The idea to create Bondi Born came to me on one of my regular walks along Bondi Beach.
Bondi is such an inspiring place. So much more than a gorgeous beach and chic lifestyle.
Bondi is a unique cultural microcosm with a pure soul. Bondi is inclusive and respectful of all races and creeds, it cares about the environment and fights hard for it.
Bondi is a place where women can feel safe and empowered, it encourages you to be the best version of you.
It makes me fall in love with the world again. Every time I’m there.
My team and I aim to live up to Bondi’s values in everything we do, to take the spirit of Bondi to women of the world one luxurious swimsuit at a time.
To do this, our team mantra has become 'Luxury without Compromise'.
LOVE & LUXURY
We love the products we make and the customers who buy them and we won’t compromise on our desire to bring joy to those who wear Bondi Born.
Considered design decisions and superior customer service are central to everything we do.
All our prints are original.
We commission them through local Australian artists and each collection will include at least one that is by an indigenous Australian as we have immense respect and love for their culture and art.
We value superior fit, fabrication, form and function.
Quality over quantity. Design that is creative and intelligent.
All to inspire our customers and make them look and feel at their absolute best.
ECO SENSITIVE & ETHICALLY SOURCED
All our fabric suppliers are screened for environmental and ethical certification which means no sweatshops, no harmful chemicals and minimisation of carbon footprint.
Our SS18 range includes fabric made from recycled ocean plastic. We will continue our search for fabrics that feel fabulous to wear but don't compromise our values.
To minimise the environmental impact of laundering, all our garments can be hand washed in cold water and air-dried. None are dry-clean only.
Our fabrics are digitally printed here in Australia, using the highest quality processes, allowing for little or no residual dye waste from the process using dyes that are OEKO-TEX approved.
Our waste fabric is collected and donated to local schools to use in their art departments.
We manufacture in limited quantities to avoid wasted garments.
And lastly, our beautiful swimwear comes together by being 100% made within a 10km radius here in Sydney by Australian owner-operated businesses who have made swimwear for many years and are artisans at what they do. We think of them as part of our team. We visit their factories and discuss improvements. We talk to their staff and know first-hand they are fairly paid and happy (not least because our Production Manager has a habit of regularly dropping by with boxes of chocolates)!
Luxury, sustainable fashion is, by its nature, more expensive. However, we will continue do our best to keep our prices as low as possible without compromising on our luxury promise, the environment and the people involved in every part of our production chain.
As a result, we hope that the joy our swimwear brings its wearer is priceless.
